For all new referrals, if urgent, please call the Clinic to discuss the urgency and to make an appointment, or email us if non-urgent at referrals@hamiltoneyeclinic.co.nz. If you wish to email through a referral, for an appointment you have made with one of our consultants for your patient, or you wish to refer a patient who has previously been under the care of Hamilton Eye Clinic, please send the referral directly to the relevant consultant’s secretary.
Whilst we do our best to accommodate acute cases, we are unable to accept walk-ins without appointment, and we may not be able to see your patient in a time suitable to their injury. When referring, please include all patient details including full name, DOB, contact phone numbers and postal address

pip.wheatley@hamiltoneyeclinic.co.nzOur Ophthalmologists are able to see ACC cases but we must be provided with a letter of referral. We understand it may not be possible to provide us with this immediately, particularly where acute cases are concerned so a faxed or emailed copy of the ACC45 is required in the interim. If you are referring to a particular specialist at HEC, please ensure the referral is addressed to them. If the ACC claim is a new one, please advise your patients that, ‘should’ ACC decline their claim, Hamilton Eye Clinic will seek reimbursement for consultation and treatment from the patient themselves.
